Abuja Nigeria Hotels Directory

This is a directory of Abuja Nigeria Hotels that I visited. These hotels are all situated within the Abuja municipal area comprising of the five districts of Wuse, Maitama, Asokoro, Garki and the Central Area.

For each hotel, there is an indication of their prize range, location and a brief comment.

Some Hotels in Abuja require a hefty deposit, usually a night’s rate in advance and some will give you a discount for paying in cash.

Rates per night in the smaller three star hotels range from $100 - $300, whilst the big guys charge you on average between $300 - $2000 per night. Okay lets get started.

Agura Hotel

Location: Garki

Comment: Agura Hotel is the first hotel built in Abuja. It is located in the busy Garki district opposite the Nigerian Army Headquarters. Facilities include king size bed as standard, a restaurant, swimming pool, tennis court and gym. However, the Hotel is getting renovated soon as it is quite stale inside.

Bolingo and Towers Hotel

Location: Garki

Comment: : Bolingo hotel and towers is managed by Swiss Hotels International and is one of the bigger hotels with about 250 rooms. It is located on Independence avenue within the Central Area. You can get a standard room at a rate of $200 dollars. Read about a review on trip advisor

Chelsea Hotel

Location:Central Area

Comment: : When I went to this hotel there was a power cut so I didn't get the chance to get a feel for the place. However, it looks big on the inside.

Denis Hotel

Location:Wuse

Comment: Situated on Malabo street off Aminu kano Crescent and a 5 minute drive to Wuse Market. This hotel is not especially tempting from the outside but inside the lobby was quite pleasing. And I got the impression that the staff were nice and friendly. The clientele is mostly Nigerian.

Golden Gate Hotel

Rate: $$

Location:Wuse

Comment: : The surrounding environment is unglamorous and the hotel only has forty rooms. But I think this is probably one of the best hotels in terms of value for money. However, their core set of customers are Chinese and I got the feeling they like it that way. A nice restaurant and bar, fitness rooms and laundry are some of the other features.

Mediterranean Hotel

Location:Asokoro

Comment:The Mediterranean hotel is a small but nice hotel situated amongst the rich, powerful Executive lodges of Asokoro.

You will find tall trees, a nice pool and decent rooms.

This hotel also offers value for money.

Nicon Luxury Hotel

Location:Garki

Comment:: The Nicon Luxury Abuja is one of the bigger hotels in Abuja. Read about a review on trip advisor

Protea Hotel Asokoro

Rate: $$$$

Location: Asokoro

Comment:: Protea hotels have a reputation for being classy and this is no exception. This one is a bit small with only 88 rooms but it has top class conference facilities, free Internet, a shuttle car service and the bar is 24/7.

Reiz Continental Hotel

Rate: $$

Location:Central Area

Comment::Continental Abuja, located within the central area has 80+ rooms with conference facilities, Internet, satellite TV and an outdoor catering service.

Sheraton Abuja

Rate:$$$$

Location:Wuse

Comment::Along with the Transcorp Hilton, Sheraton Hotel Abuja is presented as having a true world class standard of service.

Transcorp Hilton

Rate:$$$$$

Location:Maitama

Comment::The Transcorp Hilton is the king of Abuja Hotels. Hopefully you’ll be claiming company expenses if you decide to stay here. Very expensive but top of the range in terms of facilities and choice of rooms. Read a review of the Transcorp Hilton Abuja on trip advisor
