It's not all bad.
I don't think it's all bad. Nigerian Governments have never been good at raising money through efficient means of collecting tax revenues and the Oil money(ahem!) we all know the truth about that. Lagosians and Nigerians in general must be commended for what they try to do for themselves out of the necessity for survival and to a point towards wealth creation. Governments in the west have built up age old systems for raising money to fund public services, in a young democracy like Nigeria this is absent. So my point is when Governments choose not to care or positively not interfere in the affairs of their citizens the result is extreme poverty and abundant riches. I know a few people in the west will welcome the latter. |
