Real Estate in Nigeria......Magodo and Gbagada

Magodo and Gbagada lie along the Lagos to Ibadan expressway and are located on the mainland close to Ikeja. I had heard from people talking and members of my family mentioning in conversations the fine nature of the real estate in these two areas.

Honestly I didn’t expect too much. In terms of high quality real estate in Nigeria I, erroneously I think, and other tokunbos don’t see past VI, Lekki, Ikoyi and Abuja. But Magodo and Gbagada offer something different.

Although not as affluent as the island or Ikoyi, these neigbourhoods offer better value for money in middle class communities. The areas I visited were not serviced estates but normal streets with nice houses and decent people. Another thing to add is, there are a number of private primary schools within Magodo, which could be a factor in helping you decide where to live.

The only downside as with most areas in Lagos is the state of the public roads. I saw really nice houses by anyone’s standards being built alongside street roads that are either being reconstructed or suffering from neglect. But there are good signs that the state of bad roads are being addressed by the current administration. Find properties in Magodo
