Victoria Island Nigeria - Exclusive or overhyped?Victoria Island Nigeria or VI for short is an upmarket business and residential district in Lagos. If Lagos is the commercial nerve center of Nigeria then VI is the corporate headquarters. 
People living on the island range from business people, management professionals or expatriates. Along with Ikoyi, VI is were the Lagos rich set go, to work or get pampered. It has a high density of good quality hospitals and is where you'll find the best hotels, restaurants and shopping malls. It is also home to Bar beach, which is where the Atlantic ocean meets the Island. 
Real estate on the Island is very expensive, even though the general public infrastructure like roads or adequate drainage is not excellent and traffic can be a nightmare. People who own houses on the island are millionaires or big businesses, but there's plenty of fun things to do for others.
